How to save for Family Days
1. January:
On the 1st of January, most people celebrate the coming of the New Year with black-eyed peas, collard greens, freshly cleaned homes, and champagne. Why not! American citizens seems to be driven to spend their hard earned money on things that are branded in our culture as The American Holidays. This is quite amazing when you think about it. It's hard to resist the momentum of a crowd filled with song, laughter, and joyful drunkenness. It's easy to forget what troubles you and wash those things away with an wish or a resolutions. However, I think for the most part, money plays an important role in Americans happiness. The lack of money is stressful, and the attractiveness of ambition and power can be intoxicating for some.
What would happen if Americans woke up from this systematic approach to fun and excitement?
2. February:
February is known as the Month we celebrate our love for that special person that has our heart. You can find the Super Centers filled with flowers, candies, discount specials, precious stones, and gift items. Here's another Month, Americans rush to the store by the masses to remind their special person that they love them.
Shouldn't we show our love everyday, or are we too busy being ambitious throughout the year to recognize what makes it all worth it?
What would happen if Americans woke up from this systematic approach to showing love to each other?
How much wealth could your Family invest together from the spending that take place on the special day of the 14th of February?
3. March:
Here comes St. Patrick's Day and Easter depending on leap year. The United State does have a huge population of Irish immigrants that's been here for a while. However, do Americans truly know why they celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I get it. It's just another special day that we all can get together and party with a purpose. The purpose to get drunk and drink green beer. Don't forget to purchase a cool shirt so that you can avoid getting pinch. If you get pinched, don't mind the pain. It's all for sport and good games.
What would happen if Americans stop patronizing this fine day? What could they do with the money they save? Maybe invest in a Vacation fund or a Family Day... Who knows, it's not like American's aren't rich. Most Americans will actually spend a million dollars in their life time before they die. It amazing that there's not a larger population of American Millionaires.
4. April:
This Month is typically for Easter celebrations which include the buying of Derby Hats, New Sunday dresses, and lots of eggs for boiling and painting. Let's be honest... Americans know how to party for their kids. Remember back when we would go Easter egg hunting? Our Mothers would be so concerned about us getting dirty. Those were the good old days. We didn't worry about the cost. All we knew is that we were having fun.
I think one of my favorite days of the year is actually April's Fool day which is the 1st day of April. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me a third time, I must be a fool.... Hence, the 1st day of the 4th Month of the year is April's Fool Day. Gotta love it! For most American Families, money is not easy to come by. With the decline in Jobs, the rise in food prices, the rise in cost of living, and the declining strength of the American dollar...The American people seem to struggle to barely keep up with the month to month cycling Holidays.
What would happen if Americans took a short break from patronizing all of these traditional Holidays? You know just to save a few dollars that would empower the Public instead of corporations and large businesses?
5. May:
Here's another Month to celebrate our love; not for our significant other, but for our Mother. Americans celebrate Mother's Day in May the same as we celebrate Valentine's Day in February. It's hard to say no to our Mothers so this one will be a hard pill to swallow and I doubt any of us would actually do it. I think everyday is a day to tell your Mother you love them. The same as everyday is a day to display your love for your significant other.
6. June:
Well, this month is dedicated to all the Men our there working themselves to death for their family. This Month is typically reserved for Fathers Day. Maybe I'm bias, but it seems like Mothers always get better gifts than the Fathers. Maybe the Corporations/Government needs to market a bit more for Fathers day.
7. July:
Americans celebrate Independence Day in July. We rally to purchase fireworks, food for the grill, and all kind of celebration items. 4th of July Parties are the best. The food is amazing and the people are always exciting to be around.
8. August:
Back to school sales are in full swing! Time to purchase new notepad, lab journals, and more school supplies.
Not sure how you can save because Schools now tell Parents what are required for their kids to attend class.
9. September:
We celebrate Labor Day this day. We typically go shopping for our barbecue parties and to celebrate our day off. If you have this day off.
10. October:
Time for a new costume and more candy. This Month some of us celebrate Halloween.
11. November:
Thanksgiving Day is this Month. Time for a new Turkey and more shopping for our upcoming fest.
12. December:
This Month is dedicate to Christmas and more gift giving.
In Summary,
Every other 30 Days we have more reasons to shop and spend money for things we are made to feel we need. These things do make life somewhat interesting, however, sometimes every year for the rest of your life does seem a bit boring after a while. There are so many places in the World to travel and experience. I think your money would be better spent on things you actually want instead of things that the Holidays put on you.
